On October 24, 2024, Dismas House of St. Louis, in collaboration with the Southern District of Illinois U.S. Probation Office (USPO) and the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation (JJK), will take a significant step towards empowering individuals in their reentry journey by hosting its first-ever Second Chance Career Fair. This event is designed to connect clients with employment, education, and support resources, helping them build a brighter future as they reintegrate into society.

The Second Chance Career Fair aims to create a supportive environment where individuals can access the tools and opportunities necessary for a successful reentry. Attendees will have the chance to meet with potential employers, explore educational opportunities, and connect with various support centers that offer critical services.

Support centers will be present to offer guidance and assistance in areas like housing, financial literacy, and personal development. These resources are essential in providing holistic support to individuals as they navigate the challenges of reentry and work towards rebuilding their lives.

As we look ahead to this event, we are reminded of the importance of providing second chances and opportunities for growth to all members of our community. The Second Chance Career Fair is not just about employment; it’s about fostering hope, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed.

We look forward to witnessing the impact of this event and the positive outcomes it will undoubtedly create for all who attend.
